Even though....it might be worth trying your idea to see what likes it!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06528359397452422021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4725960714383614479.post-43656057810695952352009-10-15T16:43:19.094+01:002009-10-15T16:43:19.094+01:00...I've never put out a coconut for the birds ......I've never put out a coconut for the birds (I've never seen it done). I recently cut one in half and cleaned it out so I can turn it into a bird feeder to hold peanuts and sunflower seeds. I'll have to try halving one and hanging it out this winter with the coconut meat still in it. I bet the birds do like that!Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02263405659108175434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4725960714383614479.post-9728514878032806862009-10-13T20:55:13.340+01:002009-10-13T20:55:13.340+01:00Hi Sharon. I'm sure the birds will all turn up once they can't access their natural food sources & need to top up their fat reserves.
I see you have a hummingbird Robin as well..I'm still trying to get a decent pic of its antics. We do try to scare them off though with jugs of water!
I suppose the warm(ish) weather over the last couple of weeks has meant a spurt in food for the birds. I can't wait for it to get cold!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06528359397452422021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4725960714383614479.post-19303029970417197872009-10-10T20:39:44.409+01:002009-10-10T20:39:44.409+01:00I'm sure you will get more visitors before lon...I'm sure you will get more visitors before long Sharon, there is still a lot of hedgerow fruit around for them and of course there is always the possibility you may have a Sparrowhawk around or even a dreaded cat which could be putting them off!

Coal Tits certainly are busy little birds, that is a very good name for them :)ShySongbirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08148381873578585910noreply@blogger.com
